Jerusalem Water Authority condemns attacks on its headquarters and employees and calls for support for national institutions
The Board of Directors of the Jerusalem Water Authority strongly condemned the attacks on its employees and the prevention of them from performing their work, stressing its commitment to working to provide the best services in light of the difficult circumstances suffered by the Palestinian people and the ongoing challenges facing the Authority due to the restriction of water quantities by the Israeli occupation.
In a statement, the Council rejected the actions targeting the Authority’s staff, stressing that assaulting employees and preventing them from performing their work is unacceptable. The Council also condemned the attacks on the Authority’s centers and the intimidation of employees, and stressed the need to avoid personalizing issues and focusing on the real causes of crises.
The Council called on citizens to be accurate in transmitting information and to verify its sources, stressing the importance of cooperation and partnership with local authorities to achieve the desired goals.
The Council stressed that the doors of the Authority are always open to listen to citizens and work with them to overcome challenges.
The Board of Directors of the Jerusalem Water Authority addressed the Palestinian people with a salute of appreciation for their steadfastness and adherence to national constants, stressing the importance of awareness and wisdom in supporting national institutions to achieve the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Council pointed out that the Palestinian people suffer from a severe shortage of water, especially in the summer, due to the high consumption of water and the restriction of the quantities supplied by the occupation, noting that the Authority faces great difficulties as a result of the fluctuation in the quantities of water provided and the increase in the number of citizens in recent years.
