3 massacres in less than an hour... Israeli occupation intensifies its attacks against civilians in Gaza
The occupation continues its bombing of various areas of the Gaza Strip, with 284 days having passed since the start of the Israeli aggression on the seventh of last October, after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance factions on the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.
The massacres committed by the occupation against Palestinian civilians come at a time when the bereaved Palestinian families hold out hopes for an agreement between Hamas and the occupation, which may lead to a ceasefire.
3 massacres in less than an hour
The Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza, Major Mahmoud Basal, announced that the occupation committed three massacres in less than an hour against the displaced in the Al-Attar area, west of Khan Yunis, the Al-Razi School in the Nuseirat camp, and a gathering of citizens around the Sheikh Zayed roundabout, north of the Strip.
Basal pointed out that more than 44 Palestinians were killed, in addition to dozens of wounded, some of whom were in serious condition.
Mawasi Khan Yunis massacre
Developments in Khan Yunis are still the same, in terms of the increasing number of dead and wounded as a result of the continuing raids targeting the tents of displaced people and citizens’ homes.
A local source added: “Today we are talking about 3 deadly raids from the dawn hours until this moment. The last raid was targeting a house for the Abu Akar family in the Dutch neighborhood in the northwestern region of the city of Khan Yunis, specifically in the area west of the Al-Amal neighborhood, which is one of the areas considered among the Al-Mawasi area or the safe areas to which citizens returned.”
He continued, “Despite this Israeli claim, the occupation forces bombed the house against its occupants, resulting in three martyrs, a man in his fifties, and two of his granddaughters, in addition to the loss of a fourth child, while medical teams work and intensify searches for The body of this child.”
He pointed out that a number of other citizens were injured, including serious and critical injuries resulting from amputations of the lower and upper limbs.
He explained, “This raid came a few minutes after the horrific raid and crime carried out by the occupation drones, after targeting a car in the Al-Attar area, west of the city of Khan Yunis, in the Al-Mawasi area. This Israeli bombing led to the death of 17 Palestinians, most of whom were children, women and displaced persons, and the injury of “More than 26 others, including serious and critical injuries.”
He stressed that “the situation in the west of Khan Yunis is deteriorating greatly. We are talking about less than 72 hours, during which the occupation forces carried out 4 massacres in the western area of Khan Yunis, specifically in the Al-Mawasi area.”
He pointed out that “all the raids took place in a narrow square located on the western outskirts of Khan Yunis, which is the most crowded area in the Gaza Strip, as there are more than 700,000 citizens living in this small geographical area, which is completely filled with displaced people and tens of thousands of their tents.”
Continue escalation
Earlier, today, Tuesday, an eyewitness said that the occupation did not stop the escalation in the city, despite the end of the military operation there 5 months ago.
He pointed out that the occupation aircraft launched air strikes on several areas, as an Israeli raid, at dawn today, targeted a house for the Azmi Abu Tair family in the town of Abasan, in Khan Yunis, resulting in the martyrdom of the father, mother, and children.
He also indicated the arrival of 5 dead to the Nasser Medical Complex as a result of Israeli bombing on the Khirbet Al-Adas area, in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Nuseirat massacre
In Nuseirat, the occupation aircraft bombed a building containing a number of displaced people, in the vicinity of the Al-Razi School affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat camp, in the center of the Gaza Strip, during an entertainment event for children. Reuters reported that health sector officials said that the raid resulted in 16 people were killed and many others were injured.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza explained that the raid targeted a school run by the United Nations and housing displaced families.
This came as UNRWA had said that the occupation had targeted five of its schools during the past ten days, calling for the need to protect all United Nations facilities.
In Deir al-Balah, a local source reported that artillery shelling was still continuing on the east of the city, which is located in the center of the Gaza Strip, and on the north of the Nuseirat camp, specifically the areas of al-Mughraqa, Wadi Gaza, and Madinat al-Zahra.
He explained that "the occupation army appears to be working in those areas to expand the buffer zone in the Netzarim axis to prevent mortar shells from falling on its forces in that area."
Also, occupation helicopters opened fire in the vicinity of the prisoner towers, northwest of Nuseirat Camp, in the central Gaza Strip.
The series of massacres continues
For his part, the spokesman for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Dr. Khalil Al-Dakran, said that the ongoing series of massacres in all governorates increases the number of dead and injured daily, and the hospitals in the sector cannot absorb these numbers due to the great shortage of all basic supplies and fuel.
Al-Dakran added, in statements to Al-Ghad: “The number of martyrs since yesterday reached 33 dead and more than 100 injured, most of them children and the elderly, and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital cannot accommodate these numbers due to the prevention of the arrival of aid and medical supplies.”
He stressed that the hospital suffers from a shortage of medicines, and receives cases at the reception desk due to a lack of space and a significant shortage of beds.
Eyewitnesses narrated details of the bombing of their homes in the Nuseirat and Al-Maghazi camps, in central Gaza.
One of them said: “The children are sleeping peacefully in their homes, safe. We are surprised that at approximately 02:20 the missile descends on them and cuts them off like this,” asking: “What sin did they do, and what sin did we do?” “Neither are we resistance fighters nor are we armed. We, people, are peaceful.”
Another said that a missile 4 or 5 meters long had bombed his house, noting that the bodies of the dead were charred and burned.
Gaza faces annihilation
The occupation continues its bombing of various areas of the Gaza Strip, for the 284th day, leaving hundreds of dead and wounded.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Tuesday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7 had risen to 38,713 dead, the majority of whom were women and children, and 89,166 injured.
The Ministry said, in a statement, that during the past 24 hours, the occupation committed two massacres against entire families in the Gaza Strip, leaving 49 dead and 69 injured.
The Ministry added that there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and the occupation is preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.
