Report: Hamas informed Hezbollah of its agreement to a ceasefire

Two informed sources said yesterday that the Hamas movement informed Hezbollah of its approval of the ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip, and in return Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah welcomed this step, according to what Reuters reported.

The two sources explained that a Hamas delegation led by the movement’s deputy head, Khalil al-Hayya, briefed Nasrallah on the latest developments during a meeting held between the two parties in Beirut.

One of the sources, a Hezbollah leader, said that their firing would stop as soon as any ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza, repeating previous statements in this regard.

He added, "If a ceasefire agreement is reached in Gaza, there will inevitably be a ceasefire in Lebanon from zero hour itself."

Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said that the movement expects a response from Israel to its ceasefire proposals by Saturday.
He stated, "We do not wish to talk about the details of these ideas, waiting to hear a response, which will most likely be today or tomorrow (yesterday, Friday, or today, Saturday). If the response is positive, then these ideas will be discussed in detail."

Hamdan explained that "the movement's military capabilities in Gaza are still in a good position to enable it to continue the war."

Hezbollah said in a statement on Friday that Nasrallah discussed with Al-Hayya the latest developments in the negotiations aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The statement stated, “The latest security and political developments in Palestine in general and Gaza in particular were reviewed.”

He added, "They also discussed the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations these days, their atmosphere, and the proposals presented to reach an end to the treacherous aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip."

In this context, the Hamas movement said in a statement, “We affirm our rejection of any plans, projects or proposals that seek to override the Palestinian will regarding the future of the Gaza Strip, and reject any statements and positions that support plans for foreign forces to enter the Strip under any name or justification.”

It added, "The administration of the Gaza Strip after defeating this fascist aggression is a purely Palestinian matter, upon which our Palestinian people of all sects agree, and they will not allow any guardianship or the imposition of any external solutions or equations that detract from their constants based on their pure right to achieve their freedom and self-determination."

Hamas called on all Arab and Islamic countries to “pressure to stop the Zionist war of genocide against our Palestinian people, and to provide all means of support and assistance to them in their battle through which they defend their presence on their land, and to fulfill their obligations towards our people, their land, and the Islamic and Christian sanctities, which are being wreaked by fascist settler criminal gangs.” "Havoc."
