Palestinian Commission: Israeli occupation seizes vast areas of Aqraba lands
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that the occupation authorities had seized a total of 12,715 dunams of citizens’ lands in the village of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus, under the pretext of state land.
The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Minister Moayed Shaaban, said that the lands targeted by the military order are located in Basin No. 13, a natural area of the Jabal al-Qurain site, and Basin 14, a natural area, of Jabal al-Qurain, Jabal al-Mastra, and the Talaat Amra site, on the lands of the village of Aqraba.
The Israeli occupation authorities aim, through this type of declaration, to transform citizens’ lands into the growing settlement project in the Palestinian Territory and to prohibit citizens from entering these lands under the pretext that they have become state lands. It is part of a large plan aimed at controlling the eastern slopes of the West Bank, specifically those adjacent to the Jordan Valley and the border. The authority said: Since the beginning of the year, the occupation authorities have issued 4 announcements requiring the conversion of citizens’ lands into state lands that citizens are prohibited from accessing and consequently cultivating, using and reclaiming. The area of lands declared state lands, including this announcement, amounted to a total of 24 thousand dunams from the beginning of this year until this year. moment, while the total number of lands seized under various names since the beginning of the year until this moment has reached a total of 39 thousand dunums.
The Commission called on citizens who own lands targeted by the military order to go to its offices in order to complete legal files as quickly as possible in order to nullify the occupation order.
