The Israeli Minister of Finance demands stopping the transfer of electricity to the Gaza Strip

Extremist Israeli Finance Minister Yezalel Smotrich demanded that electricity transmission to the Gaza Strip be stopped immediately.

The Israeli minister wrote in a blog post on his official page on the “X” platform on Tuesday, “The decision to restore electricity to Gaza means handing over the Strip into our hands, especially the hospitals that are considered centers of terrorism,” according to his claim.

Schmotrich called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop what he described as “this foolishness,” calling for not to repeat what happened after the release of dozens of Palestinian detainees, including the director of the Shifa Complex, Muhammad Abu Salamiya.

Earlier today, residents in the Gaza Strip reported that the Gaza Electricity Company had begun work on Salah al-Din Street, west of the city of Deir al-Balah in the center of the Strip, to restart the water desalination and sewage plant.

According to reports, the electricity needed to operate the facility will come from the Israeli Electricity Company, and it will be the first use of Israeli energy in the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the war, according to what was published by the Jordanian Petra News Agency.
