The war of starvation...the most dangerous weapon against our people

Through its aggression against the Gaza Strip, Israel deliberately intends to starve the people of Gaza, which leads to many cases of martyrdom and the spread of affliction and disease, without regard for any human feeling.

According to the latest reports published yesterday by the Integrated Food Security Interim Classification Initiative, it is clear that the risk of famine is still very present in the Gaza Strip due to the continued Israeli restrictions on the entry of aid.

Although the severity of hunger has relatively subsided during the past months of March and April, it has returned to exacerbation after the closure of the Rafah crossing since last May, which led to the situation deteriorating again, as today there is talk of half a million citizens suffering from catastrophic hunger (they have reached the point of nothingness) and 96 Percent of the Gaza Strip’s population faces high levels of acute food insecurity.

The Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the systematic war, through which Israel targets innocent citizens and defenseless civilians, has been suffering from a tumultuous emergency in the relief aspect, and thus it represents the fourth stage of the integrated classification of stages of food security, which precedes the famine stage, which is the fifth and final stage.

Although the situation has improved very slightly in northern Gaza, the risk of famine is rising and increasing in the south due to the military operation in Rafah, as there is a real fear that the south will reach the same disastrous levels of hunger in northern Gaza.

The continuation of the systematic starvation campaign has had a negative impact on the work space available to international organizations working in the humanitarian field, which increases the risk of disease outbreaks that will have catastrophic effects on the overall humanitarian situation in the Strip, as the starvation war is one of the most dangerous weapons that Israel uses in The face of our defenseless people, but after more than eight months have passed, and despite the accumulation of more than 330 thousand tons of waste in most areas of Gaza, the Palestinian people continue the journey of steadfastness and pride and refuse to surrender and collapse as the occupation seeks, and will remain a pain in the face of its soldiers, despite their dire need. For lunch, medicine, water, and the entry of aid in order to overcome the specter of famine that is imminent, and all of this remains under the responsibility of the United Nations relief and humanitarian agencies, which must raise the level of their influence on Israel and oblige it to gradually return life to the Gaza Strip.
