Energy Authority: Iraq supplies the Gaza Strip with 10 million liters of fuel through the Egyptian Red Crescent
The head of the Energy Authority, Dhafer Melhem, confirmed, “Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa’s visit to Iraq was crowned with success, pointing to its position in support of the rights of our people and its support for Palestine to overcome the financial crisis.”
In an interview with Voice of Palestine Radio, Melhem explained that one of the results of this visit was supplying the Gaza Strip with ten million liters of fuel, which was received by the Egyptian Red Crescent and part of which was brought into the Strip, in addition to the support that Iraq provided to UNRWA in the amount of $25 million.
Melhem pointed out the importance of Jordan and Palestine signing fourteen agreements in the field of energy, industry and water with the aim of strengthening relations between the two countries, increasing the proportion of trade exchange between them, and increasing the proportion of energy imported from Jordan from 80 megawatts to 160 megawatts, which intersects with the government’s plans to rely on alternative energy sources, and reduce The burden of energy dependence on Israeli companies.
