A “tense and fruitless” meeting brought together Sullivan, away from the media, PA Officials

Informed sources reported that a meeting described as “tense and fruitless” brought together US National Security Official Jake Sullivan at the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem, the day before yesterday, with Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, and Diplomatic Advisor to President Magdi Al-Khalidi.

The meeting discussed all outstanding issues with the US administration, most notably stopping the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has entered its 2028th day, opening a political horizon leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state, and releasing the withheld clearing funds that exacerbate the financial crisis of the Authority.

These sources said that Sullivan strongly criticized the authority’s performance with regard to reforms and renewed authority, expressing the US administration’s dissatisfaction with the formation of the government as it was done.

These sources said that the US administration had previously proposed independent names, whose names were not revealed, to take over the government.

Sullivan discussed with Netanyahu three topics, first and foremost: the next day, and normalization with Saudi Arabia, in which he demanded that Israel respond to the two-state solution and establish a Palestinian state so that Saudi Arabia could accept normalization, as well as the issue of withholding clearing funds.

The sources said that Netanyahu cannot meet any of these demands.
