The number of Palestinian female administrative detainees in Israel increased to 25

The Prisoners' Club said that the number of women administratively detained in Israeli occupation prisons has risen to 25 detainees, including four female journalists and a lawyer, in addition to mothers and wives of martyrs and detainees, and female students.

The Prisoners' Club added, in a statement, that female administrative detainees are among 82 detainees languishing in "Damoun" prison, noting that this figure does not include all female detainees in Gaza in the camps as a result of the continuing crime of enforced disappearance against them.

He pointed out that after October 7, the Israeli Authorities issued more than 5,900 administrative detention orders, covering all categories, including women, children, and the elderly, as well as the most prominent category of former detainees who spent years in administrative detention, in addition to journalists. , lawyers, doctors, teachers, students, engineers, workers, jurists, and activists.

It is noteworthy that Israel continues to escalate administrative detention operations, at a pace that is historically unprecedented, as the number of administrative detainees reached (3,424) by the end of last April, and recently women have been increasingly targeted compared to the first periods of aggression after the seventh of October.

Note that the crime of administrative detention constitutes one of the most prominent systematic crimes that Israel has historically followed against the Palestinians, and it is one of the emergency laws that the occupation inherited from the British Mandate, as the Palestinian is arrested, without a specific charge and under the pretext of the existence of a (secret file), and the trials are conducted in a sham manner.
