Israel's plan: military and civilian control of the Gaza Strip
In the absence of a political plan for the so-called day after the war on the Gaza Strip, the Hebrew channel Kan revealed that there is an Israeli vision for the form of government in the Gaza Strip that is being discussed in the cabinet.
The Israeli plan relates to Israeli military and civilian control of the Gaza Strip for a temporary period ranging from six months to a year.
According to the plan, services will be provided to the residents of Gaza through private Arab companies, after which control will be transferred to local parties that are not hostile to Israel, according to the Hebrew channel’s description.
Meanwhile, the official Israeli radio reported the resignation of the person responsible for drawing up strategic affairs in the Israeli National Security Council, Yoram Hamo. The radio indicated that the reason for the resignation was the failure of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take decisions regarding the day after the war and the return of military operations in northern Gaza.
For its part, Israeli Channel 12 believes that the Israeli army will remain stuck in the Gaza Strip as long as there is no political vision that allows filling the vacuum left by the army when it withdraws from areas inside the Gaza Strip.
The channel added, “We must build a ruling alternative to Hamas, and as long as there is no other solution, and as long as there is no policy, it is expected that the army will continue to return to areas it entered before.”
