Britain imposes sanctions on Israeli settlers who carried out attacks on Palestinian citizens
Today, Friday, Britain announced the imposition of sanctions on two settlement groups and four settlers who carried out attacks on citizens in the occupied West Bank.
The British Foreign Office said in a statement on Friday that Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced “the imposition of further sanctions on extremist Israeli groups and individuals due to acts of violence in the West Bank.”
It added, "Today's package includes two groups known for their support, incitement, and encouragement of violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank, in addition to four individuals responsible for committing human rights violations against these communities."
The Foreign Ministry added that these measures come after an unprecedented increase in settler violence in the West Bank over the past year, as the United Nations recorded nearly 800 attacks since last October.
