United Nations: More than 10,000 women were killed in Gaza

On Tuesday, UN Women announced the death of more than 10,000 women in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war for more than 6 months.


The authority said, in a statement: “More than ten thousand women were killed in Gaza, and the survivors of the Israeli bombing and ground operations were displaced, became widows and face starvation, which makes the war on Gaza also a war on women.”


The war on Gaza has left 33,843 dead and 76,575 wounded since October 7, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Strip on Tuesday.


The Commission, the United Nations organization concerned with gender equality and the empowerment of women, estimated that there are 19,000 orphan children; As a result of the killing of 6,000 mothers in Gaza.


It continued: "More than a million women and girls in Gaza cannot obtain food or safe drinking water after 6 months of war, with diseases increasing amid inhumane living conditions."


It stressed that "access to clean water is crucial, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, who have greater daily water needs."


The Commission called for "an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid."


Israel continues the war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the Security Council, as well as despite its first appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing "genocide."
