50 Israelis committed suicide after surviving the October 7 attack
On Tuesday, statements described as “difficult” were revealed regarding the Israeli survivors of a music festival that was held in the Negev, southern occupied Palestine, during the attack of last October 7, which was carried out by the Hamas movement.
According to data revealed by one of the survivors before the so-called “State Audit” Committee in the Israeli Knesset, there were approximately 50 suicide cases among survivors at the Nova Festival.
It indicated in a statement he gave before the committee that there were many people who were forcibly admitted to hospital due to their difficult mental health condition.
Another survivor told the committee that she underwent a medical examination and suffers from poor health conditions, noting that her average sleep per day is one to two hours at night, and that she suffers from psychological disorders that prompt her to call the police when she sees someone close to her all the time.
She added: I have friends who have not gotten out of their beds yet, and are still in poor health. Why should I prove to someone what I went through? And why should I prove what happened to me in detail?!
Many Israelis who survived that attack complained that their conditions were ignored and that they were not classified as victims of a “terrorist attack,” noting that some of them suffer from psychological attacks, and that many of them turn to psychiatrists for treatment.
