Iranian Chief of Staff: Our operation against Israel succeeded and we do not plan to continue it
Iranian Army Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri said that they do not plan to continue the operation they began against Israel, considering that it was successful.
He added in an interview with state television: “The operation was completed successfully. We see this operation as a complete result, and we have no plans to continue it.”
Bagheri stated that the Tel Aviv administration crossed the red line by attacking the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
He stated that if a new attack occurred against Iran, it would launch a broader attack on Israel.
He pointed out that residential communities and economic areas were not bombed.
He pointed out that although they have the ability to launch more missiles, they are trying to keep the attack on Israel at the warning level.
On Saturday evening, Iranian state television said, “The Revolutionary Guard began an air operation with drones against targets in the occupied territories,” while the Israeli army announced that Iran had launched a drone attack.
The Iranian attack comes in response to the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, at the beginning of April, being subjected to an Israeli missile attack, which resulted in the killing of 7 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, including prominent General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
Israel did not officially acknowledge the assassination of Zahedi, but it did not deny responsibility for the assassination either.
