International newspapers: Israel did not achieve any goal in Gaza, and Washington realized its mistake too late

The international press discussed the dangers facing the residents of the Gaza Strip due to the dangers of the spread of epidemics and the lack of aid. It also pointed to Israel’s failure to achieve any of its goals, and the great damage suffered by the United States of America because of its absolute support for Tel Aviv.

The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" highlighted the warnings of epidemiologists that the continued flow of food into the Gaza Strip at the current pace may cause the death toll to rise to 120,000 due to the spread of diseases, the absence of health care, and the possibility of an invasion of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper said that avoiding catastrophic levels of famine requires the entry of aid in large quantities within days, and it quoted a researcher as saying that the per capita food rate in Gaza is falling in an unprecedented manner.

Return of displaced persons

In the Wall Street Journal, a report spoke about the emergence of the issue of the return of displaced persons to the northern areas of the Gaza Strip as a focal point in the ceasefire negotiations.

The report said that the mediators' efforts to resolve this sticking point took new momentum after the killing of the seven relief workers from the World Central Kitchen, but it quoted experts that the massive destruction of buildings and necessary facilities makes it difficult to return to normal life in the north.

As for the French newspaper Le Monde, it said in its editorial that disproportionality has become the basis of the Gaza war, which is managed by the Israeli army through artificial intelligence, which does not distinguish between fighters of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and civilians.

The newspaper believes that Israel has not achieved any of its goals, and that what it has done so far is to reoccupy the Gaza Strip after 16 years of stifling siege, adding that the government's most extreme policy in Israel's history is causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.

In the New York Times, a report spoke about the military support provided by the United States to Israel, saying that it “has turned into a controversial issue in light of the ongoing war in Gaza.”

The report quoted the former US envoy to the Middle East peace process, Martin Indyk, as saying that American generosity “created a feeling among Israelis over the years that they deserve it,” noting that Israel’s dependence on American support “increased because its deterrence capacity collapsed on October 7.” Last October.

Finally, Patrick Wintour spoke in the British newspaper The Guardian about the chaos caused by the Gaza war in the international system, where the writer focused on the decline in the role of the United States in favor of other powers due to its full support for Israel.

The writer said that the American administration "took a long time to realize that American and Israeli interests were not compatible in Gaza, which made American diplomacy suffer one defeat after another," expecting the United States to be exposed to more pressure the longer the war lasts.
