Tomorrow, Monday afternoon, the UN Security Council will hold a meeting to decide on the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations, under the title “Acceptance of New Members.”

The State of Palestine sent a message to the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations in this regard, which was supported by the Arab Group, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and the Organization of Non-Aligned Countries.

The State of Palestine currently has the status of an “observer state,” as the observer member is not entitled to vote on the resolutions it adopts in the General Assembly nor to compete for non-permanent membership in the Security Council.
