CNN revealed, on Sunday, that US President Joe Biden threatened Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with dire consequences if Israel did not change its method of war in the Gaza Strip.

CNN said, citing an unnamed informed source, that Biden warned Netanyahu that Washington would reconsider the way it supports Tel Aviv if conditions for civilians in Gaza do not improve quickly.

Axios had previously quoted a senior Israeli official as saying that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his aides were surprised by US President Joe Biden's request to stop fighting in the Gaza Strip outside the context of the hostage deal.

Axios said that Biden warned Netanyahu that the administration would not be able to support him unless Israel changed its course in Gaza.

The website added that the recent call between Biden and Netanyahu was the most difficult since October 7 in terms of tone and content.

He pointed out that Biden did not specify the manifestations of the loss of American support and did not mention the possibility of halting arms shipments to Israel.

He continued, "Netanyahu said that there will be new measures on the humanitarian side, and therefore there is no need to stop the fighting."

He added, "Netanyahu stressed that stopping the fighting must come within an agreement to release the hostages in Gaza."

He stressed that the Biden administration has made clear that it believes there must be a ceasefire for 6 weeks in exchange for the release of the hostages.
