Maariv poll: If elections are held now, the camp of the parties opposing Netanyahu will win 66 seats

An Israeli public opinion poll conducted by the Maariv newspaper yesterday (Thursday) showed that if the Israeli general elections were held now, each of the party camp lists supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would obtain 45 seats (one seat less than the number of seats it obtained in this week’s poll). last), while the lists of the parties camp opposing him will obtain 66 seats (two seats more than the number of seats they obtained in last week's poll). The “Religious Zionism” party list headed by Minister Bezalel Smotrich gets 4 seats, while the “Otzma Yehudit” list [“Jewish Power”] headed by Minister Itamar Ben Gvir gets 9 seats, and the Shas party list of Haredi [religiously extremist] Eastern Jews gets 10 seats. 9 seats, the ultra-orthodox United Torah Judaism party list gets 6 seats, the “Israel Our Home” party list headed by Knesset member Avigdor Lieberman gets 11 seats, and the Meretz party list and the “Official Right [formerly “New Hope”]” list headed by Minister Gideon each get 11 seats. Sa'ar has 4 seats, and the Labor Party's list will not be able to exceed the electoral threshold.


48% of respondents said that the head of the “official camp” Benny Gantz is the most suitable to assume the position of Prime Minister of Israel, while 33% of them said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the most suitable.


48% of respondents expressed their belief that the demonstrations taking place in Jerusalem and other parts of Israel for the release of kidnapped Israelis detained in the Gaza Strip affect the efforts made to release them, while 31% of them said that they advance these efforts and 23% of them refused to answer this question.


The survey included a sample of 528 people representing all categories of the adult population in Israel, with a maximum error rate of 4.4%.
