American media reports said on Friday that there were three reasons that led to the shift in US President Joe Biden’s position towards Israel, including the repeated demands of his wife, Jill Biden.

NBC News quoted American officials as saying that Biden assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington might make aid to Israel conditional on its behavior in the war.

The officials told the channel that the killing of aid workers, Biden's wife's daily appeal to stop the war, and the Muslim community's action led to a shift in Biden's position.

On Friday, international media reported on the content of the “charged” phone call that took place between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, and its consequences, as Biden called on Netanyahu during the call to increase the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and expand the powers of the Israeli negotiating team. To reach a prisoner exchange deal and stop any Israeli arrangements related to a future Israeli presence in Gaza, he threatened to change American policy towards Israel if it did not commit to implementing specific conditions, especially related to the protection of civilians and the entry of humanitarian aid.

The mini-security government in Israel (the cabinet) agreed to open the Erez crossing on the Gaza Strip border to bring in humanitarian aid, for the first time since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Thursday that Israel will open the port of Ashdod, in addition to the Erez crossing, to transport humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as an urgent step to improve the humanitarian situation in the Strip.

Israel is also scheduled to allow an increase in aid from Jordan that is transported through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Today, the Israeli army announced the results of its investigation into the killing of World Kitchen relief workers, stressing that its forces did not recognize the organization’s vehicles and that one of the commanders miscalculated.
