Demonstrations in "Israel" demanding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas
Israelis demonstrated on Saturday in Tel Aviv, demanding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
The demonstrators also demanded that early elections be held, in addition to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, bearing responsibility for what happened on October 7, 2023.
The head of the Mossad, Dedi (David) Barnea, the head of the Shin Bet, Ronan Bar, and the representative of the Israeli army, Nitzan Alon, arrived in Doha, with the aim of resuming their meetings with the mediators, within the framework of liberating the prisoners and halting the fire in Gaza.
An Israeli source told Kan: “The head of the Mossad asked the head of the CIA to join the summit in Qatar, which means additional pressure on both sides from the United States, in an attempt to create a more important negotiating dynamic.”
The channel also quoted a foreign official participating in the talks as saying, "There are gaps between the two parties, but an attempt will be made to find a compromise."
The Times of Israel newspaper had previously quoted sources as saying that Tel Aviv is considering the option of not killing both Yahya Al-Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza, and Muhammad Al-Deif, the leader of the movement’s military wing, and granting them immunity of some kind to allow them to be deported to another country.
In addition, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the death toll from the war in the Strip had risen to 32,142 dead and 74,412 wounded since October 7.
The war in the Gaza Strip has entered its 168th day, as Israeli forces continue to target residential areas, especially in the center of the Strip, while international fears are increasing about an anticipated operation in Rafah, south of the Strip, that will lead to a humanitarian disaster.
