Netanyahu: Biden is “wrong” in his recent statements

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the recent statements of US President Joe Biden, in which he said that "Netanyahu is doing more harm to Israel than good."

In an interview with the Politico website, Netanyahu said: “I do not know what President Biden meant, but if what he meant was that I am leading a policy against the majority of public opinion in Israel and that this harms Israel’s interests, then he is wrong.”

He added: "This policy is supported by the overwhelming majority of Israelis. They support the military operation that we are launching to eliminate the remaining Hamas brigades. They also support my position on the necessity of opposing attempts to force us to accept a Palestinian terrorist state."

He continued: "Most Israelis understand that if we do not do this, we will return to the October 7 massacre."

He explained: "So my policy is the policy of the majority of Israelis. The vast majority are united as never before and they understand what is good and what is important for Israel and they are right."

Biden said, in a television interview, that Netanyahu “is doing more harm to Israel than good” by the way he is managing the war in Gaza.

Biden considered that the Israeli threat to invade the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip would be a red line for Netanyahu.

But Biden said, in the same interview, that he would never abandon Israel, and would not stop supplying it with weapons.

He also indicated that it is always possible to reach a ceasefire in Gaza before Ramadan, stressing that he will not abandon that goal.
