Kamala Harris: What we see in Gaza is devastating and a ceasefire must be declared immediately

US Vice President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, said that what we see daily in the Gaza Strip is devastating, and that a ceasefire must be declared immediately.

She urged the Israeli government to make more efforts to increase the flow of aid to Gaza, saying that there were “no excuses” and that the residents of the Strip were suffering from a humanitarian catastrophe.

In a speech during a visit to the state of Alabama, Harris said that there must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza that would ensure the release of detainees in Gaza while allowing more aid to enter the Strip.

She said that many innocent Palestinians were killed, and that those who were searching for aid in Gaza were met with gunfire and chaos.

She spoke about the presence of an agreement on the table, saying that the Hamas movement needs to approve it, and that a 6-week ceasefire will allow the release of the hostages and the entry of a large amount of aid into Gaza, noting that what she described as the threat posed by Hamas must be ended, according to her.

She stressed that the Israeli government must work to restore basic services and restore order in Gaza.

The aggression against Gaza left more than 30,000 killed, most of them children and women, an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure and property, which required Israel to appear, for the first time since its establishment in 1948, before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide crimes.
