International Court of Justice: Israel must implement interim measures immediately
Yesterday, Friday, the International Court of Justice described the situation in the Gaza Strip as very bad, and demanded that Israel implement temporary measures immediately and effectively.
The court announced its decision regarding the new measures requested by South Africa due to Israel's plan to attack the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
A statement stated in particular that the decision to take measures that the court ruled on January 26, 2024 applies fully to the Gaza Strip, including Rafah, and there is no need to take additional measures.
It said: “Precautionary measures must be implemented quickly and effectively,” referring to the warning of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres regarding Israel’s plan to launch an attack on Rafah, that carrying out such an attack would greatly amplify the humanitarian nightmare that already exists, and generate untold regional consequences. .
