Israeli right wing Minister: Egypt bears great responsibility for what happened on October 7th
Today, Monday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich pointed the finger at Egypt for what happened on October 7.
The Israeli minister said that Hamas's ammunition supplies largely pass through Egypt, saying that Cairo bears great responsibility for what happened on October 7th.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the religious Zionist bloc meeting to refrain from sending a delegation to Cairo tomorrow to complete negotiations on the exchange deal.
He said: “The head of the Mossad should be sent to eliminate Hamas leaders around the world, instead of sending him to Qatar, and the head of the Shin Bet should be sent to Rafah to destroy and kill all Hamas terrorists instead of sending him to talk to the enemy.”
According to him, "Our response to Hamas and its imaginary demands will be in Rafah with Air Force planes, tanks, infantry and paratroopers."
He added: "American pressure or fear of harming civilians should not deter us from occupying Rafah and destroying Hamas."
It is noteworthy that Smotrich also directed sharp criticism at Egypt in December for allowing huge amounts of ammunition to enter Gaza in the past.
The Israeli minister said at the time that Egypt must allow Gazans to pass through the Egyptian border so that they can immigrate to other countries.
Smotrich rejected the recent proposal put forward by Egypt and Qatar to end the war in Gaza and establish a technocratic government to rule the region, along with the West Bank.
The controversial minister, who heads the far-right Religious Zionism Party, stressed that the war government does not have a mandate to approve such a plan before achieving all the goals of the war, and says that his party will not be a partner in a government that agrees to end the war. He explained that Qatar and Egypt will not have a role in the future in what will take place in the Gaza Strip, in light of discussions held in Cairo with officials from the Palestinian factions.
