Israel will allow a UN delegation to visit the northern Gaza Strip
An Israeli report stated that Tel Aviv would allow a United Nations delegation to visit the northern Gaza Strip, which was almost completely destroyed, as the Israeli army deliberately leveled entire neighborhoods, institutions and hospitals in the land.
According to what the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on its website (Ynet), the “War Cabinet” “responded to the request of US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, to allow a United Nations delegation to visit the northern Gaza Strip.”
It added that the potential step comes “so that the delegation can closely examine the state of the infrastructure and draw a map of the needs in the region.”
Earlier today, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stressed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the “importance” of avoiding harm to civilians in Gaza.
Blinken said during his presence in Doha, the day before yesterday, Sunday, as part of his Middle Eastern tour, that “90% of the population of the Gaza Strip is facing a severe food shortage,” noting that “the immediate increase of aid in Gaza, especially in the north, is essential.”
He added, "The United Nations can play a decisive role regarding the return of Palestinians to their homes in northern Gaza."
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said today that the Gaza Strip is turning into an “unfit place to live,” after more than 3 months of the Israeli war on the Strip.
