West Bank: Angry demonstrations due to assassination of Al-Arouri
Marches were launched in a number of West Bank governorates, Tuesday evening, amid calls for a comprehensive strike in the West Bank, following the assassination by the Israeli occupation of the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Saleh Al-Arouri, in the southern suburb of Beirut.
The march toured the streets of the city of Ramallah in the central West Bank, and young men gathered in front of the house of the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri in his birthplace in the village of Aroura, north of Ramallah. The voices of takbirs and chants denouncing the crime of assassination rose amid calls for the resistance brigades to respond to this crime.
The march began tonight from the Jenin camp, denouncing the crime of assassinating Al-Arouri and his companions in Beirut, while confrontations broke out between young men and the occupation forces in the Al-Aroub camp, north of Hebron, following a march denouncing the assassination, after the march reached the entrance to the camp.
On the other hand, the Fatah movement’s regions in the West Bank announced a comprehensive strike tomorrow, Wednesday, to denounce the assassination of Saleh Al-Arouri, and the national and Islamic forces in several governorates announced a comprehensive strike and a day of general anger and rebellion, in response to the assassination of Al-Arouri.
The Committee of National and Islamic Forces and Institutions in Nablus, through the loudspeakers of the mosques, mourned Al-Arouri, declaring that tomorrow, Wednesday, is a day of comprehensive strike for all aspects of life, and it is a “day of escalation.”
