The Palestinian Telecommunications Company announced today, Wednesday, the complete cessation of all communications and Internet services with the Gaza Strip, due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Executive Director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Laith Daraghmeh, explained that the occupation mechanisms bulldozed the generators feeding the main division in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Daraghmeh explained that the occupation aircraft bombed the fiber network, the main Internet feeder in the Gaza Strip, after it was bombed two days ago, and it took 10 continuous hours to repair it, due to the difficulty of accessing it, due to the occupation’s bulldozing of the roads leading to it.

Ooredoo also announced, in a brief statement, the cessation of its services in the center and south of the Strip, and its partial continuation in the north.

Ooredoo said in a brief statement: “With the continuation of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, the main lines feeding telecommunications and Internet companies were repeatedly interrupted, which led to the cessation of our services in the center and south of the Strip, and their continuation in a partial and limited manner in the north of the Gaza Strip.”

This is the sixth time that the occupation forces have cut off communications and the Internet from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, by severing international lines.

The most recent was on December 14, when the occupation cut off communications and the Internet from the Gaza Strip. The interruption lasted four days, the longest, before the Internet was partially restored, with a limited return of communications in some cities in the Strip.

The interruption of communications and the Internet is accompanied by an escalation in the massacres committed by the occupation forces against our people in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the disruption of efforts to rescue and treat citizens, as the number of martyrs since the beginning of the aggression has risen to more than 19,650 martyrs, in addition to about 52,600 wounded, and thousands of missing persons, in the toll.
