The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Monday that the Israeli army is besieging and targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.

The ministry added in a statement: “The occupation besieges and targets Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia and puts the lives of those in it at risk.”

In turn, hospital director Ahmed Al-Kahlot said in a statement to Anadolu Agency that the army is surrounding the hospital "with tanks and firepower, as it works to target all roads leading to the hospital."

He explained that the Israeli army stationed near the place "targets anyone who tries to enter the hospital."

He stated that the army targeted the "maternity and women's department inside the hospital, which led to the killing of two women and their two children, the injury of a third woman, and the amputation of her foot."

He pointed out that the "water tanks supplying the hospital" were targeted, noting that there was a complete cut off of water, whether for drinking or hygiene purposes.

According to Al-Kahlot, there are about 65 wounded people in the hospital, 12 children in the intensive care unit, and 6 premature babies who need oxygen.

He expressed his concern for the lives of the sick and injured, especially premature infants, who are exposed to real danger as a result of the near exhaustion of oxygen and fuel.

Anadolu correspondent reported, citing eyewitnesses and local sources, that fierce clashes were taking place between fighters of the "Al-Qassam Brigades", the armed wing of the "Hamas" movement, and Israeli forces in all areas of the incursion north and south of the Gaza Strip.

According to the same sources, the most violent clashes are currently taking place in the northern axis and on the outskirts of Jabalia camp, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Gaza.
