Red Cross and Red Crescent: Gaza needs continuous humanitarian aid
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies spokesman Tommaso della Longa said that Gaza is subject to an “intense” Israeli siege and attacks, and it needs continued humanitarian aid.
Speaking to Anadolu on Tuesday, Lunga said that about 800 trucks had crossed the Rafah border gate in the past 14 days, stressing that "this is not enough. We need a continuous flow of aid at different levels."
He stated that the situation in Gaza is "dangerous" and that hospitals in northern Gaza have closed and stopped providing services due to the absence of electricity, medical equipment, food, water and medicine.
He added, "Gaza residents are heading to the south of the Strip, but the situation there is also very complex and the health systems are on the verge of collapse."
Lunga stressed that diplomatic efforts are continuing at the international and regional levels to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and that they will continue to work with the Palestinian Red Crescent to achieve safe and unhindered access.
For 39 days, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, destroying neighborhoods above the heads of its residents, and leaving 11,240 Palestinians dead, including 4,630 children and 3,130 women, as well as 29,000 injured, 70 percent of whom are children and women, according to the report. According to official Palestinian sources on Monday evening.
