"The Wall Street Journal" reveals American plans for the displaced Palestinians from Gaza
A report by the American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" touched on the duty of the international community today to find solutions that aim to save civilians in light of the violent bombing targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip.
According to the newspaper, one idea is for “countries around the world to accept limited numbers of Gazan families who have expressed their desire to move elsewhere.”
The newspaper said that Europe has a long history of helping refugees fleeing conflicts, and there are many examples of this.
It added: Given these examples, countries all over the world should provide refuge for the residents of Gaza, and countries can achieve this goal by establishing well-organized and internationally coordinated transfer programs, and members of the international community can cooperate to provide one-time financial support packages for the residents of Gaza. Those interested in relocating to help with transportation costs and facilitate refugees’ adjustment to their new communities.”
The newspaper continued: “International organizations with experience in settling refugees must work to facilitate the transfer of Gazans who wish to move to countries prepared to receive them. We simply need a handful of countries in the world to share the responsibility of hosting the residents of Gaza, and even if each country receives what it does not.” Less than 10,000 people, this will help alleviate the crisis.”
It continued: "The international community has a moral duty, and an opportunity, to show compassion, help the people of Gaza move towards a more prosperous future and work together to achieve greater peace and stability in the Middle East."
