Tehran sent a firm message to the White House in response to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, affirming that his country rejects the policy of threats and intimidation. Zolghadr clarified in press statements that the Iranian people will not respond to external pressures, emphasizing the need for the American discourse to be more respectful to avoid different Iranian reactions.
On the ground, the United States faced a series of consecutive crises coinciding with Independence Day celebrations, as severe storms and intense heatwaves struck wide areas of the country. Sources reported that adverse weather conditions led to power outages for more than 623,000 subscribers, amidst reports of fatalities and severe material damage to infrastructure due to strong winds and floods.
In the context of security disturbances, New York City witnessed a bloody shooting incident in the Brooklyn area during national celebrations, resulting in eight people sustaining various injuries. Medical sources confirmed that among the injured were four children, which caused a state of panic in the area, while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident that marred the official occasion during which Trump delivered a speech to citizens.
The Iranian people do not understand the language of threats from foreigners, and the American administration must address us with respect, otherwise the response will be in another language.
