Fiorentina joined Inter, the defending champion, to the final of the Italian Cup in football, by tying goalless with its guest Cremonese, Thursday, in the second leg of the semi-final.
On Wednesday, Inter qualified for the final by defeating Juventus with a clean goal, after the two teams tied 1-1 in the first leg, then Fiorentina joined it on Thursday as a result of its 2-0 victory in the first leg away from home.
This is the first time that “Viola” has qualified for the Cup final since 2014, when it lost to Napoli, forfeiting the opportunity to win the first title since 2001 and the seventh in its history, in which it played the final 10 matches previously.
Fiorentina is also competing at the continental level by reaching the semi-finals of the “Conference League” competition, where it will face Swiss Basel on May 12 and 18.
On the other hand, the adventure of Cremonese, who was a Yemeni, ended by playing the final for the first time in his history, after eliminating Napoli, the league leaders, from the final price, by penalty kicks, after a 2-2 draw at Diego Armando Maradona, then Rome from the quarter-finals by beating him 2-1 in Capital.
The final will be held on May 24 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
Juventus holds the record for the number of coronation times (14), against Roma (9), Inter (8), Lazio (7) and both Fiorentina and Napoli (6).
