WHO intends to remain in Gaza City and warns of a health disaster.

The World Health Organization announced its confirmation to remain in the city of Gaza, despite the call issued by the Israeli occupation authorities for the city's residents to leave for the south of the besieged Gaza Strip.

The organization clarified, through a statement published on its account on the social media platform "X," that it and its partners are still in the heart of the city of Gaza, while expressing its discontent with the evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces.

In the same context, the World Health Organization reported that what is referred to as the "humanitarian area" designated by the Israeli occupation state in the south of the besieged Gaza Strip lacks the volume and scope of services necessary to support those present there, let alone the new arrivals.

According to the organization, nearly half of the hospitals still operating in the Gaza Strip are located in the city.

It also warned that: "The health system in the sector cannot bear the loss of any of these remaining facilities."

The organization added, through the same source, "Although the recent evacuation orders did not include hospitals yet, previous realities show how quickly they become incapacitated when fighting obstructs patient access, prevents ambulances from reaching them, and disrupts the resupply of the World Health Organization and its partners."

The Israeli occupation army had called, on Tuesday, for all residents of Gaza to leave immediately to the south of the sector, warning that it would launch a violent attack on the city; while the United Nations states that: "About one million people live in the city of Gaza and its surroundings."

For days, the occupation army has begun a gradual campaign of destruction of high residential buildings in the city of Gaza, increasing the number of displaced families and pushing them into harsh displacement conditions, while observers warn that the goal is to forcibly push Palestinians to migrate south, as part of a broader Israeli-American plan to displace them outside the sector.

On Monday as well, the Israeli occupation army minister, Yoav Gallant, threatened to bomb more high residential buildings in the city of Gaza and destroy the sector and the "Hamas" movement unless the prisoners are released and weapons are surrendered.

On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted of his army's destruction of 50 residential buildings in the city of Gaza within two days, threatening to demolish more and proceed with the displacement plans, stating: "This is just the beginning and a prelude to the main operation."

With American support, the Israeli occupation state has been conducting a campaign of genocide against the entire besieged Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,605 martyrs and 163,319 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and a famine that claimed the lives of 404 Palestinians, including 141 children.
