Member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Khalil Al-Hayya, said that the Israeli occupation thwarted an agreement to release civilian and foreign detainees, and at the same time warned of a major Israeli massacre being prepared.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Khalil Al-Hayya added, “We were on the verge of an agreement to release the civilian and foreign detainees, but the occupation evaded and returned to square one.” He explained that the occupation is using this file in a malicious, despicable, and immoral way to prolong the war and calm Israeli public opinion.

He stressed that the movement's direction is clear in the file of prisoners detained in Gaza by releasing them in exchange for Palestinian women and children, but the occupation places obstacles in an evasive attempt and is not harmed by the resistance's periodic announcement of the killing of an additional number of detained prisoners.

Lies and excuses

He pointed out that the occupation uses a stream of lies as a pretext to prolong its killing of the people of Gaza, indicating that it resorts to destruction with the aim of displacing the Palestinian people from their land by displacing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to the south and then abroad at a later stage.

He expressed his confidence that the Palestinian people will thwart the displacement plans, along with all free people, and added, "We are rooted in our homeland."

Al-Hayya warned that the occupation is preparing the stage for more killings and crimes after cutting off communications and the Internet, and said that the world has failed resoundingly in the face of the values and morals that it calls for from time to time, at a time when the occupation does not pay attention to international values, decisions, or laws.

Gaza hospitals

The senior Hamas leader denied what the Israeli military spokesman said about Gaza's hospitals, and said that hospitals and places of refuge and displacement are open to the media and international organizations so that they can see the occupation's lies and slander.

He added that the occupation wants to use these lies as a vehicle to destroy the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the more than 60,000 displaced people in it, warning of a major massacre taking place under the cover of darkness.

However, Al-Hayya expressed his confidence in the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and said that it is lurking and waiting for him and is capable of inflicting on him heavy losses that will lead to shame and disgrace, stressing that Hamas’s priority is “protecting our people and stopping the aggression.”

He said that the American administration gave the green light to the occupation, and stressed that it is morally, politically and humanely responsible for all crimes and does not clearly tell him, “Enough killing and blood.”

He stressed that the more the occupation failed in the face of resistance strikes, the more it killed civilians. He continued that the more the occupation army lost its soldiers, vehicles, and military armor, the more it killed and destroyed children and women.
