Israeli cyber attacks halt the operation of Palestinian news websites

The Israeli occupation's attempts to obscure the Palestinian narrative and obscure the horrific massacres and war of extermination that it has been waging in the Gaza Strip since October 7 have not stopped.

The government media office confirmed that Palestinian news websites were suspended after being subjected to electronic attacks originating from the occupation, as part of attempts to cover up massacres in the Gaza Strip.

The office said in a statement on Sunday: The occupation’s aggression enters its thirtieth day and has targeted everything in Gaza, in continuation of the occupation’s policy of silencing the Palestinian voice and distorting the narrative by all means and means.

It pointed out that this comes by directly targeting journalists by killing them, or bombing their homes, or destroying press offices, and preventing foreign press from entering Gaza, or by jamming frequencies, cutting off broadcasts, and cutting off fuel to media outlets and broadcast vehicles.

It stated that most recently, some Palestinian websites were subjected to an electronic attack originating from the occupation, which led to them stopping work and being unable to publish on their websites.

Among these sites are: “The Palestinian Al-Rai Agency website, Al-Resala Net website, the Palestinian Press Agency website “Safa,” and the Palestine Today Agency website.”

It stressed that the electronic attack on these websites is a blatant assault on freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed by all international conventions, and it is a miserable attempt that reflects Zionist disappointment in stopping the Palestinian media and silencing the Palestinian voice.

Since the beginning of the aggression, the occupation has repeatedly attempted to disrupt the official websites of the Hamas movement, and to disrupt the Al-Aqsa satellite channel, as well as the Al-Jazeera satellite network, which covers the events.

The occupation also repeated several times the cutting off of communications and the Internet from the entire sector as part of an attempt to impose complete isolation and cover up its massacres.

Since the start of the aggression, 46 male and female journalists have been martyred, while a large number of their families and families of other journalists have also been martyred as part of attempts to intimidate and silence journalists, in addition to the bombing and destruction of the headquarters of dozens of media outlets, including international media agencies, the last of which was the French Press Agency.

The government media office warned that silencing the Palestinian voice indicates that the occupation is preparing to commit more crimes against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and seeks to eliminate witnesses to the truth by various means.

It called on international and regional human rights and journalistic institutions to provide protection for press crews, condemn this attack and other attacks that killed and injured dozens of journalists, and hold the occupation accountable for them.

The world who claims to have guaranteed freedom of opinion and expression called for condemning the occupation's denial of freedom of opinion and expression. This attack is the best evidence of its denial of all international and humanitarian conventions, and demanded that the occupation be removed from all forums concerned with human rights and freedom of opinion and expression.
