White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US administration and the Israeli government are holding a “frank dialogue” regarding the war on Gaza, and added, “We do not support the killing of innocent people, whether they are Palestinians or Israelis,” according to what Reuters reported on Sunday. .


Sullivan noted that the United States and Israel are discussing "difficult questions" and about humanitarian aid. He said that the United States believes that Israel should take all possible means to distinguish between Palestinian civilians and Hamas militants in its military operation in Gaza.


In an interview with CNN, Sullivan called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "rein in" the violence of extremist settlers against innocent Palestinians in the West Bank.


This evening, a meeting of the Israeli mini-ministerial council for political and security affairs (cabinet) will be held. Israeli media reported that ministers are expected to criticize Israel's decision to "expand humanitarian aid" to the Gaza Strip and open a water pipeline to the south of the Strip.


US President Joe Biden is expected to speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later today, against the backdrop of the American demand to expand humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip, and in light of American concern about expanding the Israeli ground military operation in the Strip, according to media reports. Meanwhile, international demands have increased for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and the British government stated that the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, expressed in a phone call between them, today, their concerns regarding the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.


A spokesman for Sunak said in a statement, “The two leaders stressed the importance of delivering urgent humanitarian support to Gaza. They agreed to work together in efforts to deliver essential food, fuel, water and medicine to those who need them and to remove foreign nationals.”


The spokesman added that Richy and Macron "expressed their common concern about the risk of escalation in the broader region, especially in the West Bank."
