IAEA verifies attack on Iranian nuclear facility under construction

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced today, Sunday, that it is monitoring and verifying field reports of a military attack targeting the construction site of the Darkhovin nuclear power plant in Iran during the night hours. The agency clarified in a brief statement that its technical teams are working to assess the situation at the facility, which is still in its early construction phases.

International sources confirmed that the targeted site did not contain any nuclear materials or radioactive fuel at the time of the incident, based on the results of the agency's last inspection tour of the site.
