Palestinian Prisoners' Commission: Escalation of arrests in West Bank is a collective punishment
The Commission for Ex-Prisoners' Affairs said on Tuesday that the widespread arrest campaign launched by the Israeli occupation army in cities, villages and camps in the West Bank comes within the context of collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
The Commission explained that last night and at dawn today, the occupation carried out dozens of raids, which were accompanied by sabotage and tampering with homes, and arrested approximately 50 Palestinians, the majority of whom were freed prisoners.
The Commission confirmed that these practices demonstrate the extent of the confusion and disorientation experienced by the occupation system, and that it is trying to escape from its abject security failure through these practices, which confirm that the policy of collective punishment is one of the foundations of the work of the occupying state, and its permanent refuge that exposes its fascism and decadence.
The Commission stressed that this Zionist extremism, the criminality of the occupation army, and its implementation of daily killings and arrests will not deter the Palestinian people, nor dissuade them from continuing their struggle, until their freedom is achieved.
