Herzog warns of division, and Netanyahu calls for Israeli unity

Israeli President Isaac Herzog warned on Tuesday of the state of division that the Jewish community has witnessed recently, especially after the events that Tel Aviv witnessed by separating the sexes in Yom Kippur prayers during the past two days.

Herzog said at a ceremony commemorating the Yom Kippur War, “Internal disputes are the most dangerous of all... Only yesterday we saw in the largest Hebrew city a painful example of how internal conflict escalates and worsens.”

He expressed his sadness at seeing Israelis fighting on a day that was an example of unity. According to him.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “The people, secular and religious, left and right, Jews and non-Jews, have all proven that what we have in common is greater than what divides us.”

He added: "I am sure that even today what we have in common will overcome what divides us."

He continued: "In difficult moments, we all unite. On the day we find ourselves in a new round of fighting, we are all in one row against our enemies."

Netanyahu claimed that many Middle Eastern countries want peace with Israel... Expanding the circle of peace is a historic opportunity and we are committed to it with all our might while preserving the vital interests of our country.”
