Al-Jahalin to “Al-Quds”: Extremist Jewish organization works to uproot Palestinian population of Jerusalem desert

Two Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations and an official in the Jahalin Bedouin clan revealed an ethnic cleansing campaign against the Bedouins of Palestine, especially the tribes residing in the desert of Jerusalem and areas classified as “C” in the West Bank, carried out by the extremist Jewish organization “Regavim” since the government of Benjamin Netanyahu took power, and his coalition. With extremists Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.

The Civil Coalition for Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem and the Israeli “B’Tselem” organization said, “The Israeli occupation authorities are carrying out a forced displacement (transfer) operation against the Palestinians in the West Bank, and they are” responsible for committing a war crime, noting that at least 6 Palestinian communities in the West Bank She was forced to flee her homes in fear of settlers and members of the extremist organization Regavim.

The Civil Coalition explained that Israel is carrying out a displacement process and is working to destroy all aspects of Palestinian life for the Bedouins of the Jerusalem Desert, depriving them of building, water sources, infrastructure and roads, working to demolish their homes, confiscating the aid provided to them from the European Union, confiscating their cars and livestock, and depriving them of all the necessities of life.

Eid Khamis Al-Jahalin, head of the Khan Al-Ahmar Village Council, told “Al-Quds” dot com, “We were previously facing members of the army, the military government, the occupation police, and the settlers, and after the far-right government, the situation became more difficult, and members of the extremist Regavim organization became the ones attacking and threatening us.”

Al-Jahalin added: “The soldiers of the military regime, the occupation police, and the settlers, every week or 10 days, raid our clubs and threaten and threaten to demolish and displace them. A few days ago, they attacked us and told us that it is forbidden to build or install portable bathrooms donated by the European Union... They confiscated, destroyed, and left.”

He pointed out that the Bedouin tribes and villages in the Jerusalem desert, east of Ramallah, and south of Hebron are living in a state of instability and anticipation, due to the entry of terrorist groups and members of the extremist “Regavim” organization, who are raiding Bedouin rackets and presenting themselves as individuals and officers in the Israeli police and carrying police cards since Itamar Ben Gvir took office. Responsibility for Israeli security.

Al-Jahalin pointed out that they raid Bedouin rackets in all communities with civilian cars and “Dorona” - drones - and every week they spread panic and terror among women and children, even school students assault them and rob them of their school bags as they go and go.

He explained, "These racist groups of settlers supported by ministers in Netanyahu's government (Ben Gvir and Smotrich) have become emboldened and attack women and children, storm weddings and weddings, order the demolition of tents, disperse the caravans, and prevent them from celebrating at weddings or funerals."

Al-Jahalin pointed out that he heard it directly from the police chief of the "Ma'ale Admim" settlement while he was heading to the police after his daughters and son were arrested, and he refused to release them except after a financial guarantee of 10,000 shekels.

He added that the police chief told him, “It is the individuals and members of the extremist organization Regavim who give the police orders and call in the Israeli army to support them during their storming of Bedouin settlements.”

It is noteworthy that the "Regavim" organization is an extremist right-wing organization that seeks to find so-called "legal channels to implement demolition orders issued by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian homes and facilities, and Ari Briggs (director of the organization's international department) is considered one of its most prominent activists."

Regavim's work is focused on the areas of the occupied Negev and the area called "C", which constitutes 60% of the territory of the occupied West Bank. It has freedom of access to geographical or demographic information about this region with a license from the military government - Beit El - the Civil Administration, where it uses systems Geographical information, and conducts detailed aerial photography in the presence of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Al-Jahalin said: “The members of this extremist organization are pursuing farmers and sheep herders, most recently my son and daughters, as they were arrested from a distance not only 300 meters from the rackets, from an area very far from the settlements. Despite this, they were arrested and my son and my daughters were arrested, former settlers and Regavim members.” “They give orders to members of the army and police and act arrogantly and arrogantly.”

He added: “The grazing area of Bedouin communities since the formation of the current occupation government has decreased by more than 60%, and a large portion of the Bedouins have become afraid to go out to graze as they were before, for fear of clashing with members of the extremist organization who have begun bringing wild dogs, attacking shepherds, and arresting citizens without permission.” a reason".

Al-Jahalin confirmed that the number of those who left as a result of these terrorist practices was small, and said: “Where will we go, Jerusalem or Ramallah? Whoever owns a large herd of sheep cannot take them into the cities and is forced to search for safe pastures to continue his life.”

In response to a question about the European delegations that visited them yesterday, Al-Jahalin said: “The Swiss delegation consisting of the Swiss Consulate and Foreign Ministry listened to the suffering that the Bedouins are experiencing in 26 communities in Jerusalem and Area C in the occupied West Bank, and they are writing reports to those responsible for them, and this is a situation we are accustomed to.” It, like all other reports and decisions taken by organizations in the European Union and the United Nations, should be documented without practical measures on the ground to alleviate our suffering.”

Al-Jahalin said: “I asked the representative of the Swiss Foreign Ministry yesterday that the occupation army destroyed the barracks and portable bathrooms that you provided to us. Why do you not defend your money that the occupation is destroying? I did not receive a response.”

He added: "All the meetings and gatherings that the Europeans hold and the reports they submit have a limited impact, such as the fatwa on the illegitimacy of the wall and the necessity of its demolition, as well as the illegitimacy of settlements and the necessity of stopping them. There are hundreds of international resolutions that Israel trampled on and refuses to implement."

Al-Jahalin explained that in the east of the city of Jerusalem - the Jerusalem Desert - from the Prophet Musa Mosque to the north of the West Bank, all of Area C includes 26 Bedouin communities, all of them refugees, and their number is about 3,000 Bedouins, whose origins go back to the Arad region in the Negev.
