Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that there is no solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict without an independent Palestinian state.


He added in press statements: “People have begun to lose hope in a two-state solution (Palestinian and Israeli), and through efforts we want to bring it back to the forefront... There is no way to resolve the conflict except by ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”


He continued: "We held consultations with the European Union, Egypt and Jordan regarding the solution of the Palestinian and Israeli states."


Today, along with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, and the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, Bin Farhan chaired the ministerial meeting to discuss efforts to revitalize... The peace process in the Middle East, on the sidelines of the work of the United Nations General Assembly at its 78th session in New York City.


The meeting witnessed the presence of representatives of about 70 countries and international organizations, and about 50 speakers from various countries of the world, where mechanisms for contributing to the coordination of joint efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East were discussed, and the formation of political, economic, and humanitarian work teams to discuss practical steps and incentives that encourage the revival of the peace process. Arabic peace.


According to Reuters, the meeting stressed the importance of revitalizing the peace process, by producing a package aimed at maximizing its gains to reach an agreement that guarantees reaching the final status, ensuring the urgent need for a two-state solution and ensuring the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, and the implementation of all UN agreements and resolutions. And relying on the Arab Peace Initiative as a comprehensive vision for peace in the region.
