Revealing painful details about injured Palestinian prisoner Khalil Araysha

Today, Sunday, the Commission for the Affairs of Prisoners and Ex-Detainees published painful details to which the injured prisoner Khalil Araysha (19 years old) from the city of Nablus was subjected during his arrest and interrogation, after the Commission’s lawyer, Sherine Iraqi, visited him in Megiddo Prison.

It said: “The prisoner was severely injured by Israeli occupation soldiers on 05/22/2023, during the storming of Balata camp when he was returning from work. The prisoner was subsequently transferred to Rafidia Hospital for treatment and to remove the bullets from his body. He remained there for nearly three weeks in a state of emergency.” Saab is healthy, oscillating between coma and consciousness, and suffers from bone fragmentation and a fractured pelvis, in addition to an injury to his right foot.”

It added: “On June 26, 2023, when he was discharged from the hospital, a large group of occupation soldiers came at three o’clock after midnight to the prisoner’s house, tied his hands and blindfolded him, then took him to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, then to Ramla Hospital, where he stayed.” There were 6 days, after which he was returned to Petah Tikva for investigation.”

The lawyer told the prisoner what he was subjected to during the investigation, where he said: “I was interrogated for 31 days in Petah Tikva. The first two weeks the interrogation was very intense, as it exceeded 18 hours a day. They were among the most difficult days I had to go through, and then the hours were reduced.” The investigation was carried out gradually, and during this period, despite my difficult health condition and the severe pain I was feeling, I did not take any medication.”

It is noteworthy that a court hearing for Araysha is scheduled to be held on 10/10/2023.
