Today, Friday, the Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrouei, accompanied by the Authority’s Economic Advisor, began a visit to the State of Palestine to review the projects funded by the Authority, at the invitation of the Minister of Agriculture, Riyad Attari.

The delegation of the Arab Authority was received in the main hall for VIPs at the Palestinian crossings by the Jericho and Jordan Valley Business Marchers, Yusra Al-Suwaiti, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Agriculture.

The visit aims to learn about the reality of the agricultural sector and discuss prospects for joint cooperation and investment in the Palestinian agricultural sector.

The delegation visited a number of agricultural institutions in Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate, starting with a visit to the Arab Construction Project Association, and listened to an overview of the association, its activities and future plans. Issues were raised related to the prospects for cooperation with the Authority, which will be the focus of a future discussion through the Ministry of Agriculture.

The delegation also visited the Rift Valley Development and Investment Company, which specializes in agricultural investment activities, and was briefed on the company’s work, achievements and plans, especially with regard to organic agriculture, hydroponics, vegetable and leafy plant activities, as well as investment in the palm sector.

The delegation then went to visit Al-Auja Dam and Al-Auja Spring, and learn about the region’s priorities and the possibilities of developing interventions that help develop the region by improving water availability.

The Minister of Agriculture, Riyad Al-Atari, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Funds, Nasser Qatami, met with the delegation, who considered this visit to be historic and of developmental significance, enhancing the Palestinian capacity for steadfastness and sustainability through joint projects between the State of Palestine and the Arab Authority.
