Israeli occupation decides to release prisoner Khalil Awawda
The Prisoner's Club said that the occupation authorities decided today to release prisoner Khalil Awawda from the town of Idna/Hebron, who has been detained since December 27, 2021, and he will be released from Ofer Prison, where he has been detained recently.
The Prisoner's Club stated that the prisoner Awawda had gone on a hunger strike that lasted for 172 days, in rejection of his administrative detention, and that he was supposed to be released in October 2022, but the occupation authorities, shortly before his release, brought an "accusation" against him. Regarding an attempt to insert a phone while he was being transported from the Israeli Assaf Harofeh Hospital to Ramle, she maintained his detention, and later sentenced him to actual imprisonment for a period of 16 months and a fine of 5,000 shekels, with a suspended sentence of 8 months.
Khalil faced difficult and dangerous health conditions during his strike, and after he suspended the strike, to this day, he still suffers from health problems, and he needs health follow-up.
