Foreign Ministry Welcomes Statements of Belgian Minister on Israeli Crimes

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the statements of the Belgian Minister of Cooperation and Development, Caroline Gennes, regarding the violations and crimes of the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory.

In an interview with the Belgian newspaper "De Morgan", Minister Jesnez said that, unfortunately, the year 2023 is considered the bloodiest year in a long time in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and we witnessed the erasure of entire villages from the map by the Israelis, and the periods of violent escalation are shorter compared to the past.

The Belgian minister was subjected to an Israeli attack after her statements, and the occupation government summoned the Belgian ambassador to Tel Aviv, Jean-Luc Bodson, for a reprimand session at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the occupation ambassador to Belgium, Aidit Rozenzweg, submitted a letter of protest to the Belgian Foreign Ministry in Brussels.

The Foreign Ministry considered that the Belgian Minister's statements are fully consistent with international law and resolutions of international legitimacy and support the two-state solution and the principles of human rights as she referred to.

The Foreign Ministry condemned the heinous and unjustified Israeli attack by the Israeli government against the minister and her statements, considering it within the framework of misleading propaganda and intimidation of parties that criticize the occupying state and attempts to obscure the reality of the historical injustice that the Palestinian people are subjected to, repression, abuse, persecution and racial discrimination, which many organizations have spoken about. Credible rights and humanity, including Israeli, American and European.
