Jenin deserves all the support and assistance

Jenin Governorate, with all its towns and villages, deserves all appreciation and respect, because it constitutes a fortress of steadfastness and confronting the occupation with all its practices and attacks that have never stopped. The city was exposed, a short time ago, to a wave of attacks by the occupation army, which targeted the city and the neighboring camp in ways that are contrary to all human rights and international norms.

It is scheduled that President Abu Mazen will go to the city this day to see directly its conditions and the suffering of its people, and the government has approved the formation of a technical committee for the reconstruction of the city and its camp. It exists, and the president's mere visit to the city, inspecting its conditions, and seeing its needs, is a positive step, and we hope that it will lead to meeting the needs of the governorate, not just the city. There is the neighboring camp and several towns and villages belonging to the governorate in general, which are in dire need of support and assistance.

The President's visit to the city and the Reconstruction Committee, whose formation was approved by the government, are steps that everyone expected, and it is hoped that this visit and the committee will lead to taking the necessary positive action and taking the necessary measures, because Jenin deserves all the support and backing, not only the city, but the entire governorate with all its towns and villages. And tens of thousands of citizens who live in it and constitute a center of entitlement, duty and a national cause of the first degree.

The Technical Committee, in particular, is required to study the conditions of the city and the governorate in general and to take the necessary and required measures to fulfill the needs of this governorate, which is patient and steadfast with all the measures required, just as the president’s visit to the city today constitutes the broadest and largest move, and it will not be a mere formal visit. Certainly, but it is a positive and obligatory step and a primary responsibility of the first order.

It is hoped that Mr. President's visit to Jenin will be the first step towards touring the rest of the country's governorates, learning about the needs and demands of citizens, and working to meet that with all necessary means and capabilities. This is a responsibility of the first degree for the Palestinian leadership.
