The American position and the disintegration of the occupation army and settlers
The American administration continues to issue rhetorical positions that are not worth a single red penny regarding the comprehensive attack launched by all the occupation tools, including the army, settlers and other state institutions, on everything that is Palestinian: land, people, sanctities, resources, authority, people and national rights.
The United States continues to launch vague public rhetoric that equates the criminal with the victim, and calls for restraint and desisting from incitement, and considers the massive settlement attack to be just another obstacle, and the most Washington says is that it “does not support settlement expansion,” and it focuses its discourse on the symptoms of the problem, without its clear essence. It is the occupation and its announced plan to resolve the conflict with the Palestinians by liquidating their cause, erasing their national and human rights, and making the occupation a ceiling for their aspirations.
The American administration is reluctant to take any practical steps to curb Israel and prevent it from continuing its crimes against the Palestinians. On the contrary, it continues its practical bias towards Israel by bestowing various forms of financial, military and political support, and continuing to cover the positions of the occupying state at the United Nations and preventing the issuance of any UN resolution to condemn or punish it. . And here it is recently issuing a memorandum condemning the mandate given to the United Nations Human Rights Committee under the pretext that it focuses its efforts on Israel without other countries, and it collects the signatures of 26 other countries.
The American administrations claim that they cannot put pressure on Israel, but they are not sincere about that because they are actually putting pressure on it when it comes to interests. They have previously pressured Israel to push it to accept the principles of the Madrid Conference, and have proceeded to freeze loan guarantees for Israel, as they have recently pressured Netanyahu to stop His government's actions to overthrow the judiciary because it realized that this approach ultimately affects Israel's status and embarrasses Washington in continuing to support it, just as the judicial coup threatens the future of security and military cooperation between the United States and Israel.
The United States can, if it wants, exert serious pressure on Israel and with this criminal impunity of the army and the settlers. The elections diminish the US administration's interest in international issues, especially our Palestinian cause, due to its fear of a clash with pressure centers and lobbies supporting Israel.
The American position supporting Israel is not related to the availability of information about what is going on or its absence, nor is it related to our ability to explain our cause in good English or to a public relations campaign. Only, and the matter is related first and foremost to the strategic interests of this superpower that supports Israel without conditions because the occupying power plays a functional role in serving the global interests of the United States and its allies. One of the well-known features of this role is confronting any state or regime that tries to derive for itself an independent path of development and development in isolation from American hegemony and the international division of labor, markets and raw materials. Israel also plays a central role in protecting and arming authoritarian, corrupt and racist regimes. Israel is also the largest actual laboratory for testing weapons. in the world through military campaigns and wars that never stop and thus provide invaluable services to the US arms industry complexes.
So, it is necessary to address the United States from the gate of its interests, which is possible and realistic and not a fantasy, and the key question that enables the development of the Palestinian, Arab and international position in this direction is: Does the Palestinian cause and the future of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque belong to the Palestinians alone, or does it mean Arabs, Muslims and Christians And thus concerns international peace and stability? Likewise, does the attack on Palestinian villages and their permissibility with killing and arson, as happened in Hawara and Turmusaya, concern the people of these villages who are defending their homes and their children alone, or does it concern all Palestinians, the authority, factions, institutions, the West Bank, Gaza, the interior and the diaspora?
The Palestinians can turn the equation around if they put aside their differences and adopt a practical program whose essence is unity in defending the land, the people, and the sanctities. Any calls for the institutions of the Authority to engage now and at this stage in an armed battle with the occupation army is a kind of delusion and talk that does not cost its owner anything, and like that is the call to distribute weapons to people, as weapons are present in abundance and what is absent is the decision and willingness to bear its cost, but what about the employees of the security services and their number exceeds 45,000 men under arms, most of them are young men, all of them are trained, and they have distinguished military and administrative experiences. What is preventing all of them from engaging in national guard committees and activities to confront the army and settlers' lawlessness? President Mahmoud Abbas considered resisting settler attacks a legitimate act, and other officials called for participation in forming guard committees, so why not build on that immediate and tangible practical plans?
The army and the settlers gain strength over the young men of resistance and on the outskirts of villages close to settlements and army camps when they know that they are able to single out their victims, and that such attacks will not cost them anything, but their calculations will change when they realize that all Palestinians will unite in confronting them, and that the youth of the security services will not stand. Hands idly by when they watch their people being slaughtered, and their villages and towns being violated.
The unified Palestinian position on steadfastness and confrontation will push the whole world to change its calculations, and will contribute to rebuilding the Arab position in a way that strengthens and supports the Palestinian position. American demands to increase oil production and reduce its prices. The Arabs can unite their positions and address the American administration from the gate of its interests, because Jerusalem, the future of the region and the dignity of its people are no less important to the Arab, Muslim and Christian peoples than oil prices.
