Winsland calls for accountability for the killers of the Tamimi child
Tor Winsland, the UN coordinator for the peace process in the Middle East, called, Monday evening, for those responsible for the death of the two-year-old Mohammed Al-Tamimi, a resident of Nabi Saleh, Ramallah district, to be held accountable.
"I condemn and deeply sadden the death of a two-year-old Palestinian child, who was seriously wounded by Israeli security forces' bullets in Nabi Saleh two days ago," Wensland said in a tweet on Twitter. "The Israeli military said it was responding to gunfire from the area by Palestinian gunmen.. .".
"Civilians, especially children, continue to bear the brunt of this conflict," Wensland added. "My sincere condolences to his family. I note that the Israeli authorities have opened an investigation into the incident and I call for those responsible to be held accountable."
