The delegation of the Islamic Jihad movement, headed by the Secretary-General of the movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala, met on Monday with Abbas Kamel, head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service.

According to a statement by Islamic Jihad, the meeting took place in the presence of a number of members of the movement's political bureau, and a number of senior officials in the Palestinian file in the Egyptian General Intelligence Service.

The movement said that the meeting was positive and fruitful, and reflected Egypt's keenness on the safety and unity of the Palestinian position and alleviating the suffering of our people, especially the people of the Gaza Strip, due to the unjust blockade that has been going on for several years.

The Jihad delegation affirmed that Egypt has a great role and is concerned with this role, and is keen to strengthen relations with it.

The meeting reviewed all issues of common interest, including the political and field conditions, especially the recent escalation in Gaza, the assassination of resistance leaders, and what is happening in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
