45 years after the founding and construction of the "Homesh" settlement, and 18 years after its evacuation as part of Ariel Sharon's unilateral withdrawal plan in 2005, the first batches of settlers arrived yesterday to revive and build the settlement in implementation of the decision of the extreme right-wing government in Israel, which unleashed the settlers and their parties to Judaize the Palestinian land. With the escalation of attacks and attacks against farmers.
Settlers entering Homesh via the main road, Jenin-Nablus, coincided with attacking Palestinian vehicles, breaking them and endangering the lives of citizens, as narrated by Khalil Hussein Mahmoud, who said that a group of settlers stopped his vehicle and he escaped with difficulty despite throwing stones at him.
And Mahmoud says: I lived through horrific moments, and I witnessed death and window glass flying inside my vehicle and the insults did not stop, and I miraculously escaped death.
Activists in the settlement resistance monitored the entry of an Israeli bus and several settler vehicles, guarded by a large number of patrols, to the area, which is considered one of the most targeted areas, after the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, instructed the occupation army to allow the settlers to return to reside there.
Activist Hussein Khalil told Al-Quds.com that the occupation forces' movements over the past few days were suggestive of large equipment and military preparations to provide guard and protection for the settlement, which is located on a very high hill, known as the "Banat Ya'qub" mountain, which is the highest peak in the town. back way.
This settlement was established on governmental and agricultural lands owned by citizens of Silat al-Dhahr and Cyrenaica.
Witnesses told Al-Quds.com that, since the early hours of yesterday morning, the occupation deployed more patrols and reinforcements along Jenin-Nablus Street leading to the settlement, and despite that, citizens were subjected to attacks without the army intervening to protect them, as happened with the citizen Bahjat Abdel Khaleq, who reported that he While driving his private vehicle, he was surprised by settlers who stopped a vehicle carrying them in the vicinity of the gas station near Burqa, and threw stones at him while mocking him and waving Israeli flags, indicating that the occupation forces were behind them guarding them, and his vehicle almost deviated from the road and skidded off the mountain.
As for the driver of the public vehicle, Rasmi Nasser, he mentioned that settlers suddenly came out to him from behind the dirt berm at the entrance to Homesh settlement, where he was hiding behind, and threw stones at him, injuring two passengers after the side window of the vehicle was shattered.
In the same context, the residents mentioned that the soldiers stopped several vehicles near the entrance of the settlers, and while they were searching them and checking the identities of their passengers, the settlers approached them while chanting hostile slogans, and they heard them threatening to say in Hebrew, "This is the land of Israel, and soon we will burn you and drive you out of it."
The danger has been threatening citizens for years due to settler attacks and the occupation forces' conversion of the main street adjacent to the entrance to the area into a military barracks.
The people feel greater terror and fear, as activist Khalil recounts, who explained that entry to the area is impossible and prohibited by the permanent and continuous occupation, and activists, citizens, farmers, and Palestinian and international organizations that reject the occupation and resistance to settlement cannot enter or access it as it is a closed military zone, and due to the presence of control and monitoring points. spread by the occupation, and the spread of extremist settlers who attack anyone who tries to approach the area and even cattle herders.
